Hi folks,
A recent issue has happened in clan and I wanted to inform you all as to why we have lost some clanmates.
Three weeks ago I was asked by a clan dep if I would consider bringing Tri back into clan for a second chance. Tri was kicked a year ago for bothering a woman in clan. I warned him, and he did
it again...so i kicked him from clan. In clan Tri was liked by most, he was always helping folks with questions in CC. So a year later a clan dep asked me if I would offer Tri a second
chance. I thought it over. Then i asked the woman who had issues with him if this was okay with her. She stated she was fine with Tri returning, as it was in the past. I then asked 75 people in clan
chat if they were okay with Tri returning and they all said they were fine with it. I then demanded Tri give me his word that he would not do what he did before to anyone in clan, and grow up ya
noob! He gave me his word. So I re-invited him into clan.
The next day I get an email from Tinderchick who was on vacation. He stated that if Tri was in clan when he returned, he would quit clan. Essentially trying to strong arm me into
kicking a clanmate that I was just giving a second chance to. Tinder at that time held 3.1 billion clan exp...and I am sure weighed it out, feeling that I would kick Tri so as not to lose Tinder's
exp. The next thing Tinder did was ban Tri from his discord channel that was being used by the clan for clan sanctioned pvm events. Now this is a clan channel on Tinder's discord server. This went
against califgirl's wishes as she is the leader of our clan pvm events. She asked him not to kick a clanmate from pvm channel as it was a very wrong way to handle the situation. But Tinder
refused to listen and banned Tri from attending clan pvm events based on his personal hate for Tri. I then asked Tinder why he seemed to hate Tri. Tinder stated that Tri gives bad info at times
in CC and that he was always having to correct Tri and that made Tinder mad. TBH, we all have given bad info in clan or thought we were right til we find out we were wrong...so what? To err is human
remember? Tinder up to this point never knew why I kicked Tri...but said he was jumping for joy when I kicked Tri initially. Now that he was re-added to clan this infuriated Tinder. I said
okay np...do what everyone does and add Tri to ignore and continue to enjoy the game. Tinder said no, I will leave clan if Tri is still there after vacation. A few days later Tri must have got wind
of the stir and took it upon himself to leave clan. As to not create unneeded drama...
I thought again about all that had taken place and saw that Tinder not only tried to use his clan exp as leverage to force me to kick, but also directly went against cali's stand on keeping Tri
in the pvm channel.
This weighed heavily on me as what Tinder did was wrong. I don't disagree with Tinder for hating, anyone can hate who they wish imo, but don't strong arm the leader and then tell a pvm
leader No. What Tinder could have done was chosen other ways to do all this and I offered Tinder a few ways. But Tinder is hardheaded and that's fine. But after what he did imo, it was defiantly out
of line and unlike a clan rank to act. So I knew Tinder was going to leave clan. I just gave him his wish earlier. I removed Tinder from the clan.
Then as what happens in this type of event...the party will contact others and vent and a bad thing all of a sudden becomes a very bad thing as it escalates. The next day I get an email from
Oleum calling me names and standing up for Tinder...that's fine with me. Oleum then stated he was thinking seriously of leaving clan. I said that's fine, I get you're Tinder's friend and you
support him. But Oleum decided to stay "to be sure everyone knew the truth" is how he said it...what truth?...that Tinder was forcing me to kick a clanmate? Or that Tri harassed a woman that a year
later said it was fine that he returned? what truth?
There is a reason that I and the deps handle things outside of CC. It is because you in clan trust us to make the hard decisions. If we told the CC every time we had an issue with a clanmate, it
would create more issues as everyone has their own opinion. We leaders deal with issues so you don't have to, it is our job.
The next day I was at work and a few people left clan to join Tinder. Again that's fine, this happens. But this time Oleum, our clan dep, took it upon himself to spam into CC every
time someone left clan...and then continued to create more drama adding to the issue...Poet stepped in and asked Oleum kindly to stop. Oleum continued to spam CC. Well, no one has rank to kick a dep,
so this put Poet in a rather difficult spot. Poet called me at work informing me that Oleum was disrupting CC. I left work, logged into game and kicked Oleum.
The crazy thing is that up to this point, I always admired Tinder and Oleum....but where was the maturity in all this? Where was the proper way of dealing with issues? Where was the leadership
in Oleum? Folks, it's easy to lead and be a leader when everything is running fine...but the true test of leadership is how you react to issues and there is a right and mature way to deal with all of
them. Yes it takes time. You don't just snap and start doing rash things! Anyway I was proud of how Poet handled himself in the midst of all that was happening.
So after kicking Tinder and now Oleum, I was upset at everything and how it all was so stupidly handled. But by that time, people in clan were being told different stories...and most left
not because of the issue, but because they like Tinder as we all did and Oleum ofc.
Since then I have had people pm me saying they were approached by someone that left and asked to join Tinder.
So we have had 20 people leave the clan...they made a choice.
I intend along with you to allow the dust to settle and we will be fine. This clan runs on rules and allowing the process of removal to work. This insures that both parties are treated fairly
and justly. We don't just kick someone because you hate them lol...and we don't go spamming confidential issues into clan chat.
This entire issue was a mess from the beginning and cost us all good friends. Over what? because one guy refused to add ignore?
Anyway thank you for supporting me and the deps. And thank you for staying with us during difficult times. We will get through this together, we always have done so in the past. And we always
come out stronger. I am deeply sorry for the loss of these good people and take the entire blame as your clan owner.
In closing I will say...doing the right thing sometimes bites you hard...but at least you can rest easy knowing you did the right thing. This clan is all about doing what is right and best for
the entire clan not doing what is best for one individual.
Thank you for listening...just thought I'd show you my view
